LEWIS HAMILTON has helped unveiled the new Mercedes hypercar.
The triple world F1 world champion was the star attraction at the launch of the 1,000bhp Project One concept.
The Project One hypercar can do 0-124mph in less than 6 seconds with much of the tech taken straight from Hamilton's F1 racer.
Lewis said: “Mercedes has created history here.
“It’s incredible.
“Nobody has really done this the right way before.
“I’m hoping to have the first one.
“That’s the first time I have sat in the car and when the engine started I had the same grin as I have in the pit lane.”
Mercedes is building 275 cars at £2million a pop to celebrate 50 years of its high performance arm AMG.
They are sold out already.
It can do 16 miles on pure electric.
A Merc spokesman said: “It doesn’t need any special oils and you don’t need a pit crew to run it.”
