Forget road rage – one in 10 Brits admit to coming to blows over PARKING the car

Parking arguments are the cause of physical violence and angry car park slanging matches as Brits get irate over badly parked cars and selfish drivers

MILLIONS of Brits are having angry rows in car parks and some are even coming to blows over bad parking.

One in 10 said they'd been threatened with physical violence when trying to find a spot to leave the car.

And a quarter said they'd been involved in or seen heated verbal arguments over parking bays.

The shocking stats were revealed in a survey by YourParkingSpace.co.uk that looked into the pain of parking.

People stopping in incorrect spaces or motorists taking up two bays were two big reasons for a punch up.

Other frustrations that sent drivers to boiling point were the lack of parking and expensive hourly rates.

The survey also found that just having to find correct change was enough to make tempers into the red.

The parking battleground isn't just supermarket or shopping centre car parks but schools, hospitals, train stations and residential roads.

Harrison Woods, managing director at YourParkingSpace.co.uk, said: "Our survey shows that UK motorists are at each other’s throats, more often than not because of a lack of car parking spaces.

"Yet more disturbing is that the threat of physical violence appears to be prevalent with many angry motorists prepared to use their fists to sort out a parking dispute."

“It’s worrying that so many people lose their temper over the everyday task of parking a car, usually because they cannot find a space available.

"Pre-booking a car parking space can take away the stress and avoid any nasty confrontations."
