An investigation has unveiled the most expensive parking spaces in Britain. And their enormous price tags are likely to attract owners flaunting some very pricey motors

THE most expensive parking spaces in the UK have been revealed, and some have a value almost twice the country's average house price.

Mainly located around the nation's capital, the most pricey of the group sold for close to half a million pounds.

Earlier this week, a seaside parking spot in Cornwall sold for £40,000, but its price tag was pocket change compared to the amount some are willing to pay for a good place to park their motor.

An investigation by found that Britain's most expensive parking space sold back in 2014 for a whopping £400,000 - just over twice the average UK house price at the time.

Located in Kensington, West London, the spot is both underground and big enough to fit three cars in.

And to top it off, it's directly next to the Royal Albert Hall, so it is likely home to a set of wheels with a price tag far exceeding the spot itself.

In comparison, an entire 91-space carpark in Basildon, Essex, is available for the same £400,000 price.

Just last year, an outdoor parking bay in Hyde Park Gardens went up for sale for an eye-watering £350,000.

But it failed to sell, and is still available to purchase with 87 years remaining on its lease for a reduced price of £300,000.

On the slightly more realistic scale, a space in Islington carries a value of £120,000, but offers three parking spaces for the price of one.

Located in a secure, underground carpark, the space contains a lift system which allows you to stack three cars on top of each other  - so each vehicle will only set you back £40,000.
