Tottenham ace Harry Kane backs powerful cars made in England and chats Jaguar F-Pace — and driving with Dele Alli

HARRY KANE is in a studio filming a Sky Sports ad.
It’s the morning after Spurs thumped Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid 3-1 in the Champions League — but for Harry it’s just another normal day.
The striker said: “People expect you to beat Real Madrid and go out partying and celebrate. But you go home, rest up, and you get ready for Sunday.
“I didn’t get to sleep until 3 or 4am with all the adrenalin and everything. I was watching World Series baseball.
“This morning I spent some time with my daughter, had breakfast, eggs avocado and a bit of brown toast, cup of tea, then I came here.
“I’ll go home now, walk the dogs and chill with the little one. It’s important to get some family time.”
Yes, but come on my friend. Last night. Spurs could have won 4 or 5-1 against REAL MADRID, the European champions, at Wembley. Harry said: “It shows how far we’ve come. Last year when you look at the group we had, we should have easily got through. This year, everyone thought we’d be out, but four games in and we’ve qualified.
“We’ve just got to turn that into trophies now. People will fear us a bit more but to go far in the Champions League you have to beat these teams over and over, home and away, so let’s see what we can do.”
Now let’s talk cars with the England hero. He’s got three — a Jaguar F-Pace, Range Rover Autobiography and Bentley Supersports — all made in England. Coincidence? Harry said: “Just to be associated with that British stamp is something that I’m proud of. I pretty much love that Jag. It’s not too big, not too small, it fits our little daughter and the dogs. It’s a family car with a sporty edge. It’s not like you’re embarrassed to drive it as a dad. You’re happy to drive it. It looks nice and it’s not too expensive. It’s been great for me so far.”
And the Range is your lounge on wheels, right?
“Exactly. After a game or training, you just want to get in a nice car and chill. We were in a bit of traffic coming home from Wembley the other day, so I thought I’d give myself a bit of back massage. It was all right to be fair.
“I had a Range Rover Sport before that. Loved that. I just wanted the bigger version. And I’ve just bought a Bentley Supersports. I thought I’d treat myself to a sports car. I was looking at most of them really, but because I play golf I wanted something with a bit of room, nothing too low, something a bit different.
“They are only making 710 of them. I’ve gone for white with black wheels. It’s a beautiful, beautiful car.
It’s my first real sports car.
“Down the line, maybe if I win a few trophies, I can treat myself to a Ferrari or a Lamborghini.”
Tell us more. Who’s got what in the car park at training?
“Dele’s just bought a Supersports as well. I’ve come in with my Supersports and he’s said, ‘I don’t believe it. I’ve just ordered that as well’. He’s got a black one and I’ve got a white one. It keeps the partnership going! There’s a couple of Ferraris, Bentleys, a couple of G-Wagens, Rolls-Royce Wraith, Aston Martin DB11, lovely cars.”
Have you had any daft prangs? “On the day of my first Premier League start for Spurs, I crashed in the car park at Costco. I knew I was starting and I was nervous and I wanted to get out of the house. So I took the missus to Costco and did a bit of shopping.
“You know what those places are like, manic, cars everywhere, and it was raining. I was reversing out just as someone was coming out of the space behind me and we bumped. That was embarrassing. But we went on to beat Sunderland 5-1 that night and I scored. It was a fantastic night. The day didn’t start so well but it’s one I’ll always remember.”
Now let’s re-cap. England striker. England captain. Two x Premier League Golden Boot winner. More goals than Ronaldo this year. And a model pro off the pitch. How will you top that in 2018?
“Win the World Cup, win the Champions League, you never know. That would be a good year.”
And then you can treat yourself to another motor. Thanks Harry.
