Parking wardens slap your car with a ticket after 12 MINUTES, undercover cameras reveal

QUICKFIRE parking wardens are patrolling UK cities and slapping fines on cars at record speed.

Spy cam footage at fine hotspots revealed it took officers just 12 minutes to find a motor that had overstayed its welcome.

The investigation, carried out by comparethemarket.com, fitted hidden cameras to a car and left it parked over its time.

And it was in London where traffic wardens were hottest - issuing a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) in 12 minutes.

Speedy wardens then took just 21 minutes in Birmingham.

Drivers in Liverpool got off easily during the investigation with officers taking over four hours to ticket the car.

A Freedom of Information request by comparethemarket.com also revealed where UK motorists were most likely to receive a fine - which on average is £70.

London was top - netting almost 10 times more fines than any other city - with 549,009 between July and September 2017 worth more than £24million.

Edinburgh and Glasgow were second and third - with 58,994 and 33,693.
