Handmade in at Bentley HQ in Crewe, the SUV will have a 31-mile (50km) plug-in range on top of a new turbocharged V6 petrol under the bonnet.

Charging will take just two and a half hours - and you don't just use a regular plug.

Instead, the British maker commissioned legendary designer Philippe Starck to pen the Power Dock wall chargers you can install on the drive.

You'll also be able to charge the car remotely - and pre-heat it before the morning commute - with Bentley's new app.

The clever hybrid system will also choose when is best to use electric power on your journey based on the route you've tapped into the sat nav.

For example it'll store up battery power while you're ploughing along the motorway to use it when you hit the city.
