Jaguar F-Pace SVR is Brit firm’s fastest SUV ever with 176mph top speed – but it’ll set you back £75,000
The super SUV boats sports car performance thanks to an incredible 5.0-litre engine strapped under the bonnet
JAGUAR has revealed its fastest SUV ever – the stunning £75,000 F-Pace SVR.
The Brit-made super 4×4 has a top speed of 176mph and can hit 60mph in just 4.1 seconds – enough to rival most sports cars.
That’s thanks to its supercharged 5.0-litre V8 that’s been tuned by experts in Jag’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) department.
Packing a 542bhp punch the SUV is as powerful as five Ford Fiestas.
And while the Fiesta is Britain’s biggest seller, the F-Pace is Jag’s fastest selling model with over 132,000 sold since it launched in September 2015.
Last year sales hit 76,650 for the F-Pace – that’s more than the total number of Jags sold in 2011.
The special-edition F-Pace SVR, unveiled at the New York Auto Show, gets new body parts to improve aerodynamics plus sporty seats and steering wheel.
It’s been on a diet, too, with new lightweight parts help boost performance even further.
There’s also a new “pistol” gear shift to replace the rotary button used on most Jags.
Mike Cross, Jaguar Land Rover’s chief engineer or vehicle integrity, said: “The F-Pace SVR delivers the handling and agility to match its performance.
“Everything from the steering to the bespoke suspension set-up has been tuned specifically for our performance SUV and the result is a vehicle that lives up to the promise of both the F-Pace and SVR names.”
The all-wheel-drive F-Pace SVR is still packed with luxury touches that you’d expect from a £75,000 motor.
It gets 4G WiFi for up to eight devices and is also equipped with the advanced Touch Pro infotainment system with 10-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch HD instrument cluster.
Practicality isn’t compromised either with a 650-litre boot for your shopping or golf clubs.
The new model will be available to order from this summer.
