MINI releases one-off special edition model to celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal wedding – and it could be yours

Filled with subtle nods to Harry and Meghan, the Cooper S hatchback is due to be auctioned off as a major collectors item - and all the proceeds will go to charity

MINI has released a one-off model to celebrate the Royal wedding - and it will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

The special edition Cooper S hatchback is set to become one of the more expensive pieces of memorabilia to commemorate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's big day.

But the Royal couple won't get a chance to drive the unique motor, as it will be sold at The Children's HIV Association auction, with all proceeds going to charity.

And while there isn't anything special about the actual workings of the car, its design wont be found on any other MINI.

Painted classic white with iconic racing stripes, the Cooper S has a special blue and red decal covering the roof that's supposed to combine the Union Jack and flag of the USA.

The car's indicators show the initials "M" and "H", while an LED light shines the words "Just Married" on the ground when you open the front doors.

Fitted with the same turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine as the standard Cooper S, the hatchback usually retails for just under £23,000.

But the one-of-a-kind design is sure to fetch more than that when it goes under the hammer.

The MINI Cooper S Hatch doesn't lack on performance either, with a top speed of 145mph and 0-62mph time of 6.5 seconds.

The interior is also filled with dedications to the newlyweds, including their first names, the wedding date and good wishes added just above the glovebox

Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI's design team, said: "As an iconic British brand with almost 60 years of history in the UK, we are pleased to mark the royal wedding with this special charitable gift.

"Its specially designed roof graphic combines with 3D-printed personalised interior and exterior details as well as special embroidery to make this a MINI like no other."
