Do you live near a sports stadium? Here’s how you can make easy weekly cash – and you don’t have to do a thing

With the Premier League and Premiership rugby seasons launching this month, homeowners can earn as much as £30 on match days

IF YOU live near one of the UK's major sporting stadiums, you could start earning easy money this season without lifting a finger.

With the Premier League kicking off last week and the Premiership rugby season due to start on August 31, locals can make the most of their team's next home game by renting out their driveway.

With on-site parking limited and expensive, sports fans often look for alternative places to leave their car.

Brits can make the most of fans heading to Emirates Stadium to catch an Arsenal game, with rates of around £30 for the match.

And anyone living near Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge can make around £20 a game, as fans look for parking within walking distance of the stadiums.

And while those living near rugby stadiums might not see as much of a demand as football stomping grounds, homeowners can still make some extra cash on match day.

Brits living near England's home of rugby, Twickenham, can charge up to £16 in parking for Harlequins fans heading to the nearby Twickenham Stoop - and they could get even more during Autumn Internationals.

Those heading to watch last season's champions, Saracens, will pay around £10 to park on a North London driveway near Allianz Park, while homeowners near runner's up, Exeter Chiefs, can expect to charge around £7.50.

Fans heading to watch Premiership newcomers, Bristol Bears, will also pay around £7.50 for a four-hour block, while Sale has the lowest rates at £5 per game.

And its not just homeowners who can make some extra change on game day.

Businesses close to grounds can also rent out their car parks or allocated private spaces to sports fans.

Harrison Woods, managing director at YourParkingSpace.co.uk, said: “Premiership rugby attracts big crowds and high demand for parking, meaning that nearby homeowners and businesses can make additional income by renting out their driveways and empty spaces.

“However, those pre-booking their parking space with YourParkingSpace.co.uk could also save money when attending matches.”
