First Dates attempts to steer couples together – but a bumpy ride is in store for these blind daters
These First Daters jumped in the back seat of a rally car and tried to get to know each other while hurtling around a race track
A HANDFUL of lucky singles got the chance to experience a high-speed first date they will never forget.
And the blind meetings came with an unusual start: hurtling around a race track in a rally car.
Hosted by waitress CiCi Coleman from the Channel 4 show First Dates, the unique dining experience offered a high-octane twist on the popular reality program.
Three blind date couples met at Citroen's Brands Hatch rally stage to get to know each other over a meal - or so they thought.
Before they got to enjoy their food, the couples jumped in the backseat of a C3 hatchback and headed out onto the race track.
Driven by World Rally Championship driver, Craig Been, the daters were forced to get out of their comfort zones as they tried to get acquainted at high speed.
Some of the participants even tried to enjoy a bite while hurtling around the track, but ended up wearing more food than they ate.
In-car footage captured the hilarious exchanges between the couples as they bounced around inside the cabin.
But the adrenaline-filled meetings ended in a style more true to First Dates tradition.
Each pair were seated at a rose-decorated table and got to enjoy crepes served by CiCi from the back of a Citroen H Van.
The "speed dates" were designed to mark the return of the Channel 4 series First Dates Hotel, which is being sponsored by the French car manufacturer.
Citroën UK’s Marketing Director, Souad Wrixen, said: “The partnership between Citroën and First Dates is a perfect match, as we share so many of the same values.
"We were keen to help create a fun new First Dates experience, and with the help of our Citroën C3 WRC driver Craig Breen, and First Dates’ waitress CiCi, we feel we’ve succeeded in giving three couples a chance to find love on dates they will never forget.”
