CEEDS ARE GROWING

Kia’s new Proceed is less practical, more expensive and makes no sense… but I like it

With the same face as the Ceed five-door hatch, this Proceed is a sleeker, more coupe-like estate

THIS is the Kia Panamera. Sorry. Typo. Kia Proceed. Same face as the Ceed five-door hatch but different backside. Also different to the Kia Ceed Sportswagon estate.

This is a sleeker, more coupe-like estate, which ultimately means it is less practical, more expensive and makes no sense. But I like it.

Oddly, the 1.6-litre Proceed GT is not the top dog here either. That’s the GT-Line S with the lesser 1.4-litre turbo petrol and seven-speed paddleshift auto.

Kia has thrown absolutely everything at it — panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats, smart cruise control, powered tailgate — all for £28,685.

Very niche.

Very  cut-price Porsche Panamera.
