It was instead kept locked away in a barn and as a result the MG remains in pristine original condition, just as it did when it left the factory.

The factory-fresh MG has a stylish blue body, chrome trim and black bumpers.

The blue and grey striped interior appears showroom fresh and it even comes with an original and unused radio fitting kit.

The owner has decided now it’s the right time to sell the car as he looks to downsize his collection.

It has now emerged for sale with specialist auctioneers H&H Classics of Warrington, Cheshire.

The auction house have described the two door as “the most original MG B GT that we have encountered” and are anticipating offers up to £13,000.

Damian Jones, head of sales at H&H, said: “The MG owners club is by far the biggest in the UK and this will definitely appeal to the enthusiasts and collectors.

“To find one in such untouched condition is remarkable.

“It’s the lowest mileage and most original MG B GT that we have encountered and a one owner car to boot.
