Ultimate number plate honouring Manchester City’s historic treble could be yours for just £250
The plate is the perfect fit for any motorist looking to commemorate the club's victories in the Premier League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup this season
A MOTORIST is hoping to make some cash selling the ultimate souvenir of Manchester City's historic treble title.
The football fan is the owner of the "X3 MNC" number plate, which fits perfectly with the side's recent domestic treble competition success.
John Bird, 42, bought a £6,000 BMW S3 back in 2017, which came with the plate.
And he's been hoping ever since that Man City would win the consecutive titles, potentially making his registration a hot product among the team's fan base.
Pep Guardiola's side became the first English men's team in history to complete a domestic treble, winning the Premier League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup this season.
And despite being a Newcastle supporter, John, from Hampshire, anxiously watched Saturday's FA Cup final and celebrated when they beat Watford 6-0 at Wembley.
He has now listed the plate on eBay with a starting bid of just £250 - but hopes it will sell for several thousands.
John is even hopeful a Man City player might snap it up.
He said: "I think it's an ideal opportunity for a fan to treat themselves and to rub others noses in it.
"As I am a Newcastle fan I never have a reason to celebrate. I'm never going to have that opportunity so to be able to give another fan that chance is the next best thing.
"If I could wave a magic wand, I'd have Raheem Sterling make me an offer. I'm sure he has a few bob spare.
"I always kept hold of it in the hope they'd go on to win the treble.
"But there's no two ways about it - this is something a true fan can't afford to turn down.
"Someone can remember the treble in style. It's the ultimate football memorabilia."

John unfortunately wrote off his BMW in an accident just three months after buying it in 2017.
Devastated by his loss, he decided to keep the number plate in the hope one day the club would top the Premier League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
So far John has had one keen £250 bid on the registration, but is hoping for a few rich City fans to step forward ahead of the auction's closing on Monday.
