London's supercar season gets underway as wealthy Arabs flee scorching hot temperatures in the Gulf to enjoy cooler weather

WITH temperatures in the Gulf moving towards its scorching peak, wealthy Arabs are flying to London with their supercars to enjoy cooler weather.

The annual tradition sees the streets of London's Knightsbridge and Mayfair lined up with their expensive, lavish motors during the month.

Fans of the rare luxury cars are already snapping them up while Arab owners, seeking to escape the heat, opt for some retail therapy.

A Rolls Royce car with a Saudi Arabian number plate was snapped parked outside The Dorchester Hotel in the capital.

The hotel is famed for having a line-up of supercars parked up there - others included a Mercedes and a Lamborghini with a Kuwaiti number plate.

Marques including Lamborghini Rolls Royce, Ferrari and Forgiato - all custom made - have been shipped over to Britain.

But local residents are not fans of the supercar spectacle complaining they're taking up parking spaces without respecting rules.

Others have complained that the drivers are treating the affluent streets as a race track by revving their car engines until the early hours of the morning.
