Man’s body found slumped against car charging point at UK’s biggest electric vehicle hub in Milton Keynes

THE body of a man was found slumped up against an electric car charging point at the UK’s biggest electric vehicle hub.

The man was found sitting and leaning against one of the charging points at the Coachway, Milton Keynes, Bucks.

Cops cordoned the area off and covered the body with a blue blanket before moving it from the scene.

Around 30 rapid charge points are located at the site which continued operating as normal.

A eyewitness told the Sun: “The police were here in the morning, it was all cordoned off.

“There was an ambulance here too but they had left pretty early on.

“By the time that I got here the police had covered him with a blue blanket, but he was sat slumped with his back to the charging point.

“There were a couple of cars nearby but it was hard to see a lot more than that.”

The coachway is just outside Newport Pagnell, close to Junction 14 of the M1.

A police spokesman said: “Thames Valley Police officers were called this morning at about 8.40am following reports that the body of a man had been found in the Coachway, Milton Keynes.

“Officers attended the scene, where they remain at this time.

“The body has not yet been identified but the man is believed to be in his late twenties to mid-thirties. The death is not believed to be suspicious.”

The hub, the largest of its kind in Britain, is used to charge more than 500 cars, including BMW i3s, Hyundai Kona Electric, Jaguar I-Pace, Kia Soul EV, Nissan LEAF, Renault ZOE, Volkswagen e-up! and the Volkswagen e-Golf.
