'DEEP SHAME' FOR LABOUR

Hard-left Corbynistas mount bid to oust Jewish Labour MP Dame Louise Ellman

HARD-LEFT activists have mounted a bid to try to oust Jewish Labour MP Dame Louise Ellman - on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

She is the third female Jewish Labour MP to have faced a campaign to kick her out after daring to speak out against Jeremy Corbyn’s failure to tackle anti-Semitism.

Corbynistas in a branch in Dame Louise’s Liverpool Riversdale constituency are debating a no confidence motion in her next Tuesday.

This is on the evening of Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

The motion slams the MP for daring to speak out against the Labour leader on anti-Jew hate.

It seizes on Dame Louise’s warning that she “understands why Jews would seriously consider leaving Britain if Corbyn became PM".

It adds: "We have no confidence that our MP Louise Ellman will carry out the wishes of our CLP and our Riverside constituency or that she will follow Labour Party policy.

“This branch therefore call on our Riverside MP, Louise Ellman, to resign.”

Dame Louise will not be forced out if she loses the vote as it a symbolic vote. But a loss will be seized on by hard-left activists who are desperately battling to drive her out.

'SOURCE OF DEEP SHAME FOR LABOUR'

Board of Deputies President Marie van der Zyl stormed: “That a Jewish MP should be threatened with a vote of no confidence tabled for Yom

Kippur – the holiest day in the Jewish calendar when she has no opportunity even to respond – ought to be a source of deep shame for the Labour Party.

“That Labour shelters antisemites while attacking anti-racism campaigners is why the Equality and Human Rights Commission is investigating a political party for the first time since it looked into the activities of the BNP.

“Louise Ellman has fought bravely against anti-Semitism in her own party, and she should be applauded, not vilified.”

Fellow Jewish Labour MP Dame Margaret Hodge is battling to keep her seat after activists “triggered” her - the first step in the formal process to kick her out.

Earlier this year, activists tabled a no confidence motion in Jewish MP Luciana Berger, which was only withdrawn after a massive outcry.

Ms Berger quit Labour in disgust at the racism scandal soon after and is now a Lib Dem.

All three women have publicly blasted Mr Corbyn for standing back while Labour has become infected with anti Jew hate.
