Duchess of Cambridge’s brother James Middleton to marry French girlfriend as he pops the questions with beautiful ‘sapphire sparkler’

JAMES Middleton is to marry his French girlfriend after popping the question with a dazzling “sapphire sparkler”, it has been reported. 

Kate and Pippa’s 32-year-old brother had been one of the country’s most eligible bachelors, but last year he met 29-year-old City worker Alizee Thevenet in a chance encounter. 

James was the only at the wedding of his sister, the Duchess of Cambridge, to give a reading which declared: "Let love be genuine."

But now the has revealed he will be the last one of three siblings to exchanging vows. 

One of their pals told the paper’s diary editor Richard Eden: "They’ve got engaged.

"Alizee has been wearing a beautiful sapphire sparkler.

"They’ve been keeping the engagement secret, but news has started to leak out among their friends. 

"They’ll be announcing it formally next week."

Prince William also gave Kate a sapphire ring which was inherited from his mum Princess Diana. 

James and Alizee reportedly met at the exclusive South Kensington Club after she said hello to his Cocker Spaniel, Ella, before meeting for a drink a few weeks later. 

Later the couple were spotted kissing during the annual Middleton family New Year getaway to the Caribbean island of St Barts.

James had been in an on-off relationship with former TV presenter Donna Air, 38.

The couple were together for four years before deciding to split in 2017.
