THE parents of a Brit teen killed in a car crash have slammed the "inhumane" actions of a US diplomat's wife who fled the country after allegedly being involved in the smash.

Harry Dunn, 19, died when a car, claimed to have been driven on the wrong side of the road, collided with his motorbike outside RAF Croughton in Northamptonshire in August.

But American Anne Sacoolas, 42, claimed diplomatic immunity before she could be quizzed over causing death by dangerous driving.

Harry's family is now begging the mother to return to the UK to give them answers over the fateful night that claimed the teen's life.

And dad Tim Dunn revealed he hadn't seen the driver at the scene of the crash - having rushed to the site to console his son in his final moments.

Speaking to This Morning, the dad said: "I managed to get to the scene to see Harry, I managed to speak to him and comfort him.

"The paramedics were doing their work and he was struggling to breathe."

Tim and Charlotte Charles have desperately been appealing for the suspected driver to return to the UK after she claimed diplomatic immunity.

Speaking to the BBC this morning, mum Charlotte Charles said she couldn't understand how the family had heard "absolutely nothing" from the American since the crash.

Holding back tears, the mother said: "That's one of the hardest things that we are having to deal with.

"Now we have got a name and face but still nothing - it just seems inhumane. It doesn't feel right."

She added: "Not only mother to mother but a set of parents to another set of parents.

";Why did they think it was kind or humane to get on a plane and flee.

"That's what we are struggling to understand."

But the parents said they didn't necessarily want anyone to go to prison for their son's death - and had even been working with police to have any charges downgraded from death caused by dangerous driving to death caused by careless driving.

CALLS FOR JUSTICE

Downing Street this week said the case was "extremely concerning" and urged the US to "reconsider their position" so "the justice process can take place".

The family has been supported by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who said he would be willing to bring it up with the White House.

He said: "I think everybody’s sympathies are with the family of Harry Dunn for their tragic loss.

"But I do not think that it can be right to use the process of diplomatic immunity for this type of purpose.

"I hope Anne Sacoolas will come back and will engage properly with the processes of law that are carried out in this country.

"That is the point we are raising today with the US ambassador and I hope it will be resolved very shortly.

"If we can’t resolve then of course I will raising it myself personally with the White House."

RAF Croughton is currently on lease to the American government and processes approximately one third of all US military communications in Europe.

Diplomatic immunity allows unhindered travel for government envoys and their families.

reported that the alleged driver was advised to leave the UK by the American Embassy.
