Chinese Muslims reveal ‘rape, forced abortions, sterilisations and being forced to rub CHILLI PASTE into genitals’ at horrific state-run ‘concentration camps’
CHINESE Muslim women held in camps say they have been raped, forced to have abortions, undergo sterilisation and to rub chilli paste on their own genitals.
The allegations have surfaced as China faces claims of widespread human rights abuses against Muslims in the western province of Xinjiang.
UN experts and activists say at least one million ethnic Uighurs, and members of other Muslim minority groups, have been detained in camps, many of them blindfolded and shackled.
Beijing describes the camps as vocational training centres to help stamp out religious extremism and terrorism by teaching new work skills.
Gulzira Mogdyn, 38, was detained in Xinjiang after a visit to Kazakhstan because WhatsApp, which is banned in China, was found on her phone.
When the authorities found out the ethnic Kazakh was 10 weeks pregnant, she claims officials told her she was not allowed to have what would be her fourth child.
She told the that doctors “cut my fetus out” without using anaesthetic - from which still suffers complications.
“Two humans were lost in this tragedy - my baby and me,” she said.
Mogdyn now been granted Kazakh citizenship and is pressing Beijing for compensation.

Several female former detainees said they suspect when younger and unmarried women were taken from packed cells at night they were raped – and many disappeared altogether.
Uighur Islamic studies student Ruqiye Perhat, 30, says she was repeatedly raped by Han Chinese guards, which resulted in two pregnancies.
“Any woman or man under age 35 was raped and sexually abused,” said Perhat, who spent four years in various prisons.
Gulzira Auelkhan, a 40-year-old Kazakh woman who spent 18 months in the camps, added: “They’d come in and put bags on the heads of the ones they wanted.”
She said female guards used chewing gum to pull on her pubic hair and inmates were filmed in the shower.
Some of the women allege that detainees were forced to rub ground chilli peppers mixed with water in small glass jars on their genitals.
“It burned like fire,” one woman recalled.

Another women also detained for having WhatsApp on her phone, Rakhima Senbay, 32, said she was forced to wear an contraceptive device inside her uterus by camp doctor.
“I told her I didn’t want it, but she said it’s a must for all women going to the camp,” she said.
The Chinese government insists detainees rights are protected as part of its plans to combat terrorism through education and training.
