Coleen Rooney’s Wikipedia changed to ‘amateur detective’ as internet laps up Rebekah Vardy WAG row
COLEEN Rooney's Wikipedia page was changed to "amateur detective" after the WAG turned sleuth to accuse Rebekah Vardy of leaking stories about her.
The 33-year-old today sparked an extraordinary Twitter spat with fellow WAG Rebekah after claiming she told The Sun about her “private posts and stories”.
The astonishing row has left the internet delighted - with pranksters changing Coleen's Wikipedia page to read "English television personality and amateur detective".
Jokers even changed the WAG's birth date to September 15, 1980 - the same as author Agatha Christie, who wrote a number of detective novels revolving around Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.
Mum-of-four Coleen turned detective to find the one person who had been leaking information to the Press “without her permission or knowledge”.
She changed her Instagram settings so only a limited number of people could see her posts and then fabricated false tales to see if they were picked up by the Press.
When they were, she decided Rebekah must be the culprit, something the pregnant WAG has strongly denied.
Each of the stories provided to The Sun was put to Coleen’s representatives before publication, and on each occasion they declined to comment.
WAG-TURNED-SLEUTH
It has since emerged an amateur sportsman named Dave could have been behind Coleen’s investigative work.
In January this year she revealed she suspected someone was “betraying” her by contacting the Press with “several” stories.
She told her 1.2million Twitter followers in January: “It’s happened several times now over the past couple of years.
“It’s sad to think someone, who I have accepted to follow me is betraying for either money or to keep a relationship with the press.”
Later that day Dave, from Manchester, urged her to turn into a detective to find the leak.
He replied: “Make a false story tell ppl different things see which 1 comes out = find the culprit.”
His tweet has since been liked 3,000 times and one person told Coleen: "You owe Dave a pint after that amazing idea, surely?"
BOMBSHELL POST
Others referred to him as "Inspector Dave" and he later updated his Twitter bio with: "Detective who recently solved the Coleen Rooney v Rebekah Vardy case.”
He later joked: “I’ve had a lot of TV shows, radio shows, papers wanting me about the Coleen vs Rebekah scandal. Do I need an agent for this?”
Coleen’s bombshell post has gone viral and sparked a host of hilarious responses and memes with the pair airing their differences for the world to see.
Coleen's original post, which has been "liked" more than 140,000 times, read: “This has been a burden in my life for a few years now and finally I have got to the bottom of it.
“For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing The Sun newspaper of my private posts and stories.
“There has been so much information given to them about me, my friends and my family – all without my permission or knowledge.
I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them. It's......... Rebekah Vardy's account.

“After a long time of trying to figure out who it could be, for various reasons, I had a suspicion.
“To try and prove this, I came up with an idea, I blocked everyone from viewing Instagram except ONE account.
“(Those on my private account must have been wondering why I haven't had stories on there for a while).
“Over the past five months I have posted a series of false stories to see if they made their way into the Sun newspaper.
“And you know what, they did! The story about gender selection in Mexico, the story about returning to TV and then the latest story about the basement flood in my new house.
"ONE PERSON SAW IT"
“It's been tough keeping it to myself and not making any comment at all, especially when the stories have been leaked, however I had to. Now I know for certain which account/individual it's come from.
“I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them.
“It's......... Rebekah Vardy's account.”
Vardy, who is heavily pregnant, immediately wrote her own statement to ask why Coleen didn’t call her before the post, insisting: “What would I gain from selling stories on you?”
She said: "As I have just said to you on the phone, I wish you had called me if you thought this.
"I never speak to anyone about you as various journalists who have asked me to over the years can vouch for.
"If you thought this was happening you could have told me & I could have changed my passwords to see if it stopped.

"I'm disgusted that I'm even having to deny this. You should have called me the first time this happened."
