ISIS Beatle El Shafee Elsheikh offered a snivelling apology for the horrifying execution of British aid worker David Haines.
In the feeble bid for leniency as he faces the death penalty, the moaning fanatic still tried to wriggle out of taking full responsibility for Mr Haines' beheading by Jihadi John.
In his last interview, with , before taken into custody by the US, Elsheikh dodged the opportunity to directly say sorry.
But Elsheikh did say he would be prepared to "offer my sincere apology" for his role in the logistical side of the terror group.
Mr Haines, a 44-year-old father-of-two from Perth, had been helping refugees in a camp near the Turkish border in early 2013 when he was snatched by ISIS militants.
During this time he was watched by and Elsheikh along with Alexanda Kotey, another member of the “Beatles” cell.
In early September 2014, he was beheaded by ISIS Beatle Jihadi John, with the horrific murder filmed on a warped propaganda video that laid bare the death cult’s depravity.
'I'M SAD THAT WAS HER FATHER'S FATE'
Along with Alexander Kotey and Elsheikh have been held in a Kurdish prison in northern Syria over their involvement with the terror group.
This follows the total collapse of the so-called caliphate which sprung up in war-torn Iraq and Syria.
When pressed about Mr Haines by ITV News, Kotey remained evasive.
He said: "What I will say is that I regret, that I'm sad for her that that was the fate of her father.
"That's not something that I would have wished for.
"It's not something that I'm in agreement with and if there was anything that I had done which may have lead or caused some kind of distress to her or her father while he was in detention then I apologise for that."
I have no problem apologising
ISIS Beatle El Shafee Elsheikh
ITV News had carried out the interview after travelling to Syria with Mr Haines' daughter, Bethany, to try to get some answers from the two men whom she believed knew where her dad’s body was buried
Before the pair were interviewed, Bethany said: "They'll know, one, that I exist and, two, that I'm not letting this go — and that I will fight for justice and I will fight to find out the truth."
The death cult duo were captured by Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces and have been locked up ever since.
Bethany also confronted an ISIS bride who astonishingly defended the fanatics, who burned captives to death and then gloated over it in snuff videos.
