Nine-month-old baby dies ‘after crawling into a bucket of bleach left in kitchen by his parents’
A BABY boy has died after "playing" near a bucket of bleach left in the kitchen by his parents, it's claimed.
Police say the nine-month-old either drowned or was overcome by toxic fumes after crawling to the container at his home in Valencia, Spain.
A police spokesman said the bucket contained water mixed with bleach.
He added: "Everything indicates that the child was playing near the bucket, where there was a mixture of water with bleach, and either stuck his head in it or was close enough to inhale the toxic vapours."
The tragedy happened in the town of Gandia in the early evening.
The boy's parents rushed him to a local health centre.

He was transferred to Gandia hospital where he sadly died from a cardiorespiratory arrest.
Police say everything points to his death being an unfortunate accident and there were no signs of any injuries on his body.
However, the investigation is also looking at whether there is any negligence on behalf of his parents.
