Mum of Brit teen accused of making up gang rape claim speaks for first time about daughter’s ordeal
THE mum of a British teenager on trial accused of fabricating a gang rape claim said: “Our lives are on hold.”
Her daughter, 18, alleged the young Israelis attacked her at Cypriot party resort Ayia Napa.
They were released a week later.
Her lawyers plan to argue that police coerced the teen into retracting her statement.
Her mum, who cannot be named, said: “It’s been an unpredictable struggle since the incident.
“It seems as if all of our lives have been set aside and paused as everyone continues to move around us.”
"The support we are receiving is simply incredible, we are all unconditionally grateful to those who have, and continue, to donate money to fund our daughter's legal representation. Thank you."
She said her daughter — facing up to a year’s jail if convicted of “public mischief” — has been diagnosed with PTSD.

A Go Fund Me page set up to help the family had reached just over £35,000 of its £50,000 with many donations coming from Israel where there was outrage at the boys behaviour when they flew home.
They were filmed cheering and dancing at Tel Aviv airport and chanting outrageously ''the British girl is a whore''.
One of their lawyers Nir Yaslovich told The Sun:''I hope this girl is severely punished for the false journey the boys and their family have gone through."
