From Natalie Sawyer to Ben Miller – stars reveal moving reasons behind charity nominations for Sun’s £1m giveaway

HUNDREDS of charities, both big and small, have been put forward by you for special grants from The Sun as we celebrate our 50th birthday. 

And now, talkSPORT radio hosts Jim White and Natalie Sawyer have weighed in with their own nominations - with Natalie revealing a very touching reason behind hers.

"I had to really think about this one because there are quite a few charities close to my heart," Natalie admitted live on air this week, while discussing our £1million Sun Readers' Fund.

"But in the end I'm going for the (BHF) and this is all down to the fact that my father had to have a heart triple bypass a few years ago and I just want to have more research into all of that, of course, bear in mind what my father's gone through."

She added: "Actually, most recently, my dad's cousin - who's more like an uncle to us - has had to have a pacemaker fitted so yep, more good work for the BHF.

"That's who I'm nominating."

"I've already nominated a great footballing charity that we've been working with at talkSPORT called Football Beyond Borders," Jim told listeners.

"Everybody's heard of that but that's the one I'm backing.
