Extinction Rebellion co-founder sparks outrage after calling the Holocaust ‘just another f***ery’
A BRITISH co-founder of Extinction Rebellion sparked outrage yesterday after calling the Holocaust “just another f***ery in human history”.
Ex-organic farmer Roger Hallam, 53, compared the Nazi murder of six million Jews to other massacres — and said we should react to climate change in the same way.
He told German paper Die Zeit it was not unique as claimed in their country, adding: “For me it’s just another f***ery in human history.”
He added from his home in South Wales: “The terrible emotion Auschwitz caused has not been hidden, and the same needs to apply to the climate crisis.”
He suggested “the extremity of a trauma can create a paralysis in actually learning the lessons from it”.
Extinction Rebellion’s German branch distanced itself “explicitly” from the remarks.
It said Mr Hallam was “no longer welcome” in the country.
Mr Hallam was one of several activists arrested in September after attempting to fly drones near Heathrow.
The German publisher of his book also pulled out.
Mr Hallam claimed his comments were taken out of context.
