TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and Marshalls customers have been warned after the stores were found to have sold products linked to baby deaths AFTER they were recalled.
Federal investigators revealed this week that as many as 1,200 shoppers may have bought 19 potentially hazardous items that were still on sale when they should have been pulled from shelves.
The warning was issued on Tuesday after it was found that the stores - owned by TJX Companies - had continued selling the blacklisted products, recalled between 2014 and this year.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published of the recalled goods - which includes infant sleepers, children's rattles and kitchen utensils.
"Consumers should stop using the recalled products immediately and contact the recalling firms to receive the remedy listed in the recall, which is either a refund, replacement or repair," the CPSC warned.
One of the items, the Kids II rocking sleeper, was still on sale despite being recalled in April after five infant deaths were reported, according to .
'INFANT FATALITIES'
The safety watchdog said of that product: "Infant fatalities have occurred in the Rocking Sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach while unrestrained, or under other circumstances."
Infant deaths were also linked to another cradle, the Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play Sleeper, which had too been recalled in April but was still on sale, according to the CPSC.
A scarf endorsed by President Donald Trump's ex-wife Ivanka was also recalled over flammability fears.
Of the 19 recalled items, the commission added: "Hazards include infant fatalities, fire, burn, choking, fall, laceration, skin irritation, explosion or other injuries depending on the product."
'DEEP REGRET'
A spokesperson for TJX Companies told The Sun on Thursday: "At TJX, product safety is very important to us.
"We deeply regret that in some instances, recalled products were not properly removed from our sales floors despite the recall processes that we had in place.
"We are taking appropriate steps to strengthen these processes moving forward.
"We apologize to our customers and encourage anyone who believes they may have one of these products to participate in the recall."
Concerned customers are asked to visit the or contact TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and Marshalls.
