A 26-YEAR-old man with a "third testicle" dangling between his legs has finally had the bizarre growth removed.

Ravon, from Clarksville, Tennessee, went to see Dr Pimple Popper - real name Sandra Lee - at her clinic, on the latest episode of her hit TV show.

He explained that the uncomfortable-looking mass appeared close to his genitals about a year ago.

But in the last few months it has grown to the size of a tennis ball - and now it's time to get rid.

Speaking to TLC, he says: "It's like a third testicle, and it's just there hanging.

"It started about a year ago and it was about the size of a bouncy ball that you get out of one of those machines.

"When I first seen it I didn't think of it as anything big - I just thought it was an ingrown hair.

"Then over the course of about six months to now it's got to the size of a tennis ball.

"At times it'll be like a pain that comes through on it or it'll be rubbing up against my leg or something.

"So it'll get irritated and once it gets irritated a rash will pop up on it and it'll start getting sore and then a whitehead or pimple will pop up on the bump."

Ravon then demonstrated how much of an inconvenience the lump has become for him when he tries to use the toilet.

He says: "When I go to use the bathroom I have to lift up my leg. I can't really sit on it.

"When I sit down it instantly drops into the toilet.

"I'm not saying it hits the water or anything like that but it's hanging there, so you've already got two genitals there, just imagine another large mass hanging off your leg. It's just nasty."

Hidden

When he gets to Dr Pimple Popper's clinic, Dr Lee is initially unsure of what he's about to show her after Ravon tells her it's "hiding".

The bemused medic asks him to reveal his complaint, so Ravon stands up and puts his right leg on her chair.

Dr Lee says: "Okay, ooh this looks like a show. What the heck are you doing? Why do you need to..."

Ravon then reaches inside his shorts and pulls out the bizarre growth, letting it dangle in the air for her to examine.

He says: "So it looks like a testicle."

Dr Lee responds: "Oh my god... are you sure that's not really part of your body?"

Speaking in her separative interview, Dr Lee explains: "Ravon has a lump that's located in an unfortunate spot.

"It is hanging from his skin really, attached to his upper leg really close to where your leg attaches to your torso."

Back in the clinic, she asks: "Does this act like a testicle, does it shrink when it gets cold or does it get blue or anything like that?"

Ravon tells her it doesn't and acts independently from anything else.

Dr Lee then asks if she can touch it as she can be heard saying: "That thing is pretty darn wobbly huh?"

Shocked

Outside the clinic, Dr Lee reveals her shock.

"My initial reaction with Ravon is 'wow'," she says.

"When somebody tells me they have a growth on their leg, this is not what I'm expecting.

"It really took me aback initially - I thought I was looking at the wrong thing.

"He definitely has something here that is unique.

"It's more unusual to see a growth of this size in this area because I would think that most people won't let it grow to this size because it does affect your ability to live your life normally."

Dr Pimple Popper then gets to work to remove the testicle-like growth.

But initially they struggle to find a comfortable way for Ravon to lie while she does the procedure.

After lying a few different angles, eventually Dr Lee pops a pillow under his bottom to prop him up so she can chop the lump off.

What is a lipoma?

A lipoma is a benign, fatty lump that grows under the skin.

They're harmless and can usually be left alone if they're small and painless.

They are non-cancerous and are caused by an overgrowth of fat cells.

Lipomas can grow anywhere on the body, but are most common on the shoulders, neck, chest, arms, back, bum and thighs.

They grow very slowly and don't usually cause any problems.

Lipomas don't usually need to be removed unless they're causing problems, such as pain, or if there's uncertainty about whether it's a lipoma.

However it can be removed if it is large or is in an obvious place and is affecting your self-esteem.

You should always see your GP if you develop a growth or swelling on your body.

First she injects a numbing fluid into the growth before taking a scalpel to the area.

Speaking before the procedure, Ravon tells the camera: "Having a sharp object near my genital area - that's kind of nerve-wracking.

"It's like a horror movie, what if I jerk or something and cuts somewhere else that it's not supposed to."

As Dr Lee starts cutting away at the mass, she explains that she believes it's a lipoma - harmless soft, fatty lump.

She says: "Lipomas usually occur in the subcutaneous space, which is the fat space of our body.

But there can be fat more superficially on some of us so the skin pooches out and accommodates it and now you can have a pedunculated growth."

She then takes a pair of scissors to snip away at the fatty tissue before finally detached the sack of fat.

Dr Lee then stitches the area up, explaining that as a high-tension area it needs to be done with care.

"I was able to successfully remove Ravon's growth and I was able to stitch it up properly," she says.

"It's a very high-tension area, if he were to squat down and the area was too tight he could split the sutures.

"But I do think I removed the minimum amount of tissue needed to really help prevent stretching of the scar."

In the clinic, Dr Lee gives Ravon the growth and holding it in his hands he asks: "Is this it?"

The shocked doc replies: "What do you mean that's it? That's what she said!"

After the procedure, Ravon says: "As I was holding it in my hand it weighed about three to four pounds.

"But now that little small lump feels like thousands and thousands of pounds has been lifted off of me.

"It's a relief. I can't wait to show my girl. I know she's going to be super happy that it's gone and we can live our life how we want to now.

"Walking and running - all the activities I couldn't do before - it's going to be great."

Dr Pimple Popper returns to TLC at 10pm on Thursday 9th January
