Starving boy, 9, and 18-month-old sister rescued from evil stepdad who burnt them with cigarettes for asking for food
TWO children have being rescued from a house in Kazakhstan after being starved and tortured by their parents for "asking for food."
The siblings Daniil, nine, and his sister Sveta, 18 months, were admitted to hospital with numerous cigarette burns to their faces and necks.
The boy, who cannot walk due to cerebral palsy, and his toddler sister were spotted in the street without winter jackets by neighbours in Ust-Kamenogorsk, in the east of the country.
Daniil explained that he and Sveta were kicked out of their house by parents "who were drinking vodka" and spent several hours outside.
The shocked neighbours called an ambulance.
Doctors found Daniil and Sveta had cigarette burns to their bodies, hypothermia and malnutrition.
Hospital spokeswoman Milana Khalitova said: “The children spent several hours in -12С temperatures without winter jackets.
“They were hungry and terribly neglected. They begged us to give them some bread.
“Their clothes were extremely dirty and smelled awful. We think they had been wearing the same clothes for a month at least.
“The girl has severe nappy rashes. She is afraid of adults and flinches every time somebody touches her.”
Medics said the siblings had been fed once a day by their mother and were constantly starving.
The kids regularly asked their parents for food and were punished for that.

Speaking to local media, Daniil disclosed the details of his and his sister’s life at home.
He said: “Our mother would beat us up and kick out of the house when we asked for food.
“And our stepfather, Ivan, would burn us with cigarettes.
“I do not want to go back home to my mother. I want to live in an orphanage.”
Local child protection services are planning court action against the cruel parents to take the children into care.
Social worker Tatiana Chernyshova said: “We reported the abuse to the police who started an investigation.
“We are not going to return the children to their parents. We are collecting documents in order to sue them and deprive of parental rights.
“Daniil and Sveta will be taken away from their parents and placed into an orphanage.”
Both children are receiving counselling.
