Trump reveals Iran’s General Soleimani was plotting attacks on FOUR embassies before he was blown up by US military

On Thursday, he told journalists Iran's top military man was planning to "blow up our embassy."

The US government repeatedly said killing the general was an act of self-defense as tensions in the Middle East escalated.

Tonight, when he was asked about the Iraqi reaction to Soleimani's death and whether US troops would leave Iraq, Trump was nonplussed.

"I'm okay with it," he said, dismissing Iraqi officials reportedly preparing for the American military to leave.

"That’s what they [the Iraqis] say publicly," he declared. "They don’t say that privately."

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was also asked about the severe Iranian threat today.

Pompeo said: “We had specific information on an imminent threat and that threat stream included attacks on US embassies. Period. Full stop."

“It was going to happen," he added when reporters grilled him about what "imminent" meant.

During the explosive interview, Trump also addressed the ongoing impeachment drama.

He described House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's announcement that Democrats will send impeachment articles to the Senate next week as "ridiculous."

“She should have sent them a long time ago. It just belittles the process," Trump said.

"Nancy Pelosi will go down as the least successful speaker of the House in the history of our nation. She has done nothing."

Trump's comments come after he " and jeered Democrats at his first 2020 rally in Ohio on Thursday.

"Crazy Bernie" Sanders and "Nervous Nancy" Pelosi were some of his jibes, as well as deriding Adam Schiff, who headed up the House impeachment investigation.

Trump riled up the rust best rally, telling the crowd Schiff was a "big leaker" and a "pencil neck."
