TWO SEXES, ZERO JOB

Free speech advocate and Denver Post columnist FIRED after repeatedly writing there are only two genders

A NEWSPAPER columnist claimed he lost his job for repeatedly recognizing only two sexes in his weekly articles.

Jon Caldara asserted he was canned from the Denver Post on Friday after insisting that only two sexes exist in a piece he wrote for the Colorado newspaper earlier this month.

"I don't care who uses whose bathroom, what you wear, or how you identify.

"But to force us to use inaccurate pronouns, to force us to teach our kids that there are more than two sexes...violates our right of speech."

In his January 3 , Caldara claimed there are only two sexes and criticized the Associated Press decision to no longer classify gender as binary.

"It's admirable that reporters want to be compassionate to transgender individuals and those transitioning, as we all should be," he wrote.

"But AP reporters first have a duty to the truth, or so they say.

"There are only two sexes, identified by an XX or XY chromosome."

Two weeks after the column was published, he was fired.

In his Facebook post, Caldara said he was told his January 17 article would be his "last piece" for the publication where he'd been a columnist since 2016.

The writer, who is also president of libertarian think tank Independence Institute, chalked up his departure to "a difference in style" and claimed Denver Post editorial editor Megan Schrader believed his writing was "too insensitive."

Following the announcement of his departure, he railed on against political correctness and even suggested that the "stifling of conservative and libertarian voices" led to the election of Donald Trump.

Schrader confirmed Caldara was no longer with the newspaper but declined to discuss the reason in an emailed statement to the on Monday.

"I am writing a job description as we speak to fill his position," she wrote.

"I hope that conservative Colorado writers will apply knowing that we value conservative voices on our pages and don't have a litmus test for their opinions."
