LAURENCE Fox today revealed he's received DEATH THREATS after calling 'woke' people ‘fundamentally racist’.
The English actor argued he wanted people to be able to express their opinions after being locked in a row over racism.
The actor had been called racist during a heated Question Time debate when he hit back saying: "Oh my God. I can't help what I am, I was born like this, it's an immutable characteristic: to call me a white privileged male is to be racist - you're being racist".
He then double downed on his comments during a TalkRadio appearance - saying "wokist are fundamentally racist"
Fox today refused to back down on his comments when appearing on Good Morning Britain, saying: "I say quite a lot of unfortunate things but it's important one is able to express their ideas."
And when quizzed over the backlash by hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, he added: "I've got a small bout of hopefully temporary insomnia.
"I've had death threats and I have children."
Fox, 41, has two children with ex-wife Billie Piper.
But he said he "100 per cent stand by" the comments he had made, saying: "What is most important is we seek out incidents of racism and join together to condemn them."
Fox, who has appeared in roles including Lewis, Victoria and Becoming Jane, said he was yet to see if his comments would affect his career.
He added: "We'll have to wait and see.
"Does one want to work in a career where you have to have the right opinions? Art wont be improved."
NO FOX GIVEN
Fox had previously revealed he once dumped a former girlfriend because she liked a pro-#MeToo advert made by shaving firm Gillette.
Speaking with the Delingpod podcast, he said he no longer dates younger ladies because they are “too woke” and many of them are “absolutely bonkers.”
He said women under 35 are “primed to believe they are victims.”
Fox then revealed he had broken up with an ex when she praised a Gillette advert which highlighted “toxic masculinity.”
