A CLUBBER suffered a fractured jaw and smashed front teeth in a horrific wine bottle attack outside a nightclub.
Police say Cheyenne Mottishaw, 23, was lucky not to have been killed in the brutal, unprovoked assault.
She was hit in the face by a wine bottle hurled by a yob as he was being kicked out of Honeycomb nightclub in Sheffield, South Yorks.
Police have released CCTV footage of the brutal incident, which left Cheyenne in "awful pain and trauma".
After being knocked unconscious, she needed significant facial and dental surgery.
Cheyenne recalled: “All I can remember is getting out of the taxi and then waking up in hospital.
“I was on the floor and not responding. My friends told me they thought I was dead.
“The pain was awful. I couldn’t shut my mouth and I didn’t eat for days.
“The nerves in my teeth were hanging out so I had to wear a splint for six weeks to protect my mouth from infection.”
On top of the physical injuries to her mouth and face, the shock of the assault has taken a toll mentally as well.
For months afterwards, Cheyenne was too scared to venture out at night and was unable to work for months.
She has also had to eat using a syringe following her surgery, and is only now just starting to feel confident enough to leave her house, because she's been so traumatised.
A spokesman for the police said: “People just seem to think they can throw bottles and there not to be any consequences.
"But it could kill somebody.
"And it seems to be happening more in Sheffield at the moment.
“I would also like nightclubs to stop selling glass bottles and using glass cups so this kind of thing stops happening.”
The attack occurred on Sunday April 21, 2019, at about 10.30pm.
