Manchester Arena suicide bomber Salman Abedi took bus around city just days before terror attack
THE Manchester Arena suicide bomber is seen taking a bus around the city just days before the terror attack.
Salman Abedi killed 22 and injured hundreds at an Ariana Grande gig in 2017.
Newly released CCTV images were shown to jurors at his younger brother’s trial at the Old Bailey on Friday.
Footage shows him arriving at Manchester airport’s Terminal 3 and going through security where he purchased a mobile phone SIM card from WHSmith.
He caught a bus to nearby Wythenshawe and booked a taxi using the name “Sal” which took him to Rusholme.
More footage was shown to the jury of him examining a Nissan Micra parked outside a block of flats.
He then took another cab to meet the landlady of a one-bedroom flat in Granby Row in the city centre, which is where he constructed his suicide bomb prior to walking to the concert venue.
Another CCTV camera caught him climbing the stairs with landlady Ruth Bain who showed him round the one-bed flat, which was advertised on Gumtree.
She told the court he told her his name was “Sam Abdi” and was studying at Salford University.
Abedi decided to rent it and they agreed £775 for two weeks, of which he paid £600 upfront in cash.
