All Universal Credit and benefits appointments SCRAPPED for 3 months over coronavirus
ALL Universal Credit and benefit appointments have been scrapped for three months over the coronavirus.
The Department for Work and Pensions today announced claimants can have a much needed break as the Government battles the crisis.

It sees all appointments cancelled for three months, with people continuing to receive benefits anyway from today.
The procedures will run as normal, but those using the system no longer need to attend any meetings in person.
In a further boost, people can still make applications for benefits online.
The job centres remain open, and will continue to provide services for those lacking phones or the internet, such as the homeless.
Other changes see those affected by coronavirus able to receive up to a month’s advance up front without physically attending a jobcentre.
It comes as:

- Pubs closures in the capital are on the cards to stop the spread further
- The UK death toll hit 137 today - with more than 2,600 cases confirmed
- Schools will shut from tomorrow evening - with exams cancelled
