Doctor wins photography competition with incredible pic of snow-capped Scottish mountains
A FRONTLINE coronavirus doctor fighting has won a photography competition with an incredible image of the snow-capped Scottish Mountains.
Dr Kenny Muir won the prestigious title with his stunning pictures taken in remote parts of Scotland.

Dr Muir was labelled Scottish Photographer for the Year with his breathtaking photos.
The stand-out picture was of Seilebost Gneiss, where he captured the Luskentyre estuary, framed by the snowy mountains of North Harris.
He said: “I am shocked and delighted to have won this competition, particularly when surrounded by so many talented photographers.
“Two of the winning images are part of a personal project to document the wilder side of Glen Affric, one of Scotland’s largest remnants of Caledonian Forest. I hope to highlight the importance of preserving and regenerating these areas of natural beauty.”
His win comes as the confirmed cases of coronavirus continued to soar to 3,269 in the UK with 145 deaths.
Dr Muir's portfolio featured images from Glen Affric and the Island of Harris.
Dr Muir is currently fighting the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 virus at Raigmore hospital in Inverness, Scotland.
He said he would need to take a break from photography to focus all his efforts on keeping people alive and well.
"As a hospital doctor I will be taking a break from photography to focus on current events, but really appreciate receiving the award."
His portfolio featured images from Glen Affric and the Island of Harris.
Another standout shot was of one of the many small lochs deep within Glen Affric, capturing morning lighting hitting the native pinewoods after an evening of snow.
The Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year competition consists of a number of categories, including Landscape, Seascape, Urban, Monochrome, Four Seasons and Scottish Weather.
Andrew Bulloch, from Edinburgh, won the Youth Category for the second year running, with his image of ‘The “Beast from the East” hits Edinburgh’.
Andrew said: “The heavy snowstorms that hit the UK in March 2018 were clearly visible as they swept across the city. I climbed to the summit of Arthur’s Seat to get the best viewpoint and had to get pulled out of a snowdrift on my way down.”

Founder of the competition Stuart Low said in this tough times, he hoped the photos would give everyone some much needed joy.
Stuart said: “In these difficult times ahead of us, we hope these stunning images will bring a little joy to everyone.”
All the winning images will be showcased in a limited edition book that will be available from April 2020.
