Maxine Carr forced to go into hiding after her new identity is revealed online
SOHAM liar Maxine Carr has gone into hiding after her new identity was exposed.
Carr, 43, jailed for giving Ian Huntley an alibi after he killed Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, was outed online.
Her alleged alias, location in the country and details of her work were posted with what was apparently a recent photo.
Carr, who is now married, was swiftly moved by police to a safe house as arrangements were made to relocate her.
The posts have been deleted but it is not clear if she will need another new identity, which can cost up to £500,000.
A source said: “The authorities are determined that her new identity will not be seriously compromised. The posting blew her cover. It was as bad as it gets.”
Carr was jailed for three and a half years for providing fiancé Huntley with an alibi.
She told police she had been with Huntley, now 46, on August 4, 2002, when he murdered ten-year-olds Holly and Jessica at their home in Soham, Cambridgeshire.

The former classroom assistant kept up the lie for two weeks until it emerged she was at a club with another man.
But she is protected by a lifelong anonymity order.
Since her release from jail, having served just 21 months for perverting the course of justice, Carr has got a job, a home and married in 2014.
