Police receive tip-off calls every 5 minutes on people flouting coronavirus lockdown
COPS are receiving tip-off calls every five minutes from members of the public reporting people who are flouting strict coronavirus lockdown rules.
Forces around the country and being inundated with calls about people ignoring government guidelines to stay indoors.

TIP-OFF CALLS
“We do believe some of [the tip-offs] are a little misguided, a little of it may be malicious, getting your own back on your neighbours.
“But the vast majority of it has been about concerned members of the public doing the responsible thing.”
His force Derbyshire Police were heavily criticised after posting a video on Twitter with drone footage from the Peak District, in which they criticised a couple out walking their dog.
In West Yorkshire, Chief Constable John Robbins also said he has seen a rise in the number of tip-off calls.

Some forces have set up online forms on their websites to make it easier for neighbours to report people breaking rules.
It comes as a new heat map revealed the areas of the UK where people are breaking strict lockdown rules.

LOCKDOWN
Cops were forced to break up large groups of sunbathers and people doing exercise - with some parks forced to close in a bid to stop the spread of the disease.

“That’s why I’m giving the police these new enforcement powers, to protect the public and keep people safe.”
