PIERS Morgan has labelled a cyclist a “moron” for ignoring social distancing rules to gatecrash an interview with the Health Minister.

The Good Morning Britain presenter was questioning Edward Argar today about Boris Johnson’s condition in the ICU section of St Thomas’ hospital when a youth rode up to him holding a mobile phone.

Piers Morgan was interviewing the Health Minister when the lad on the cycle rode up behind him
Morgan apologised to the Health Minister and labelled the lad a 'moron'

Mr Argar appeared not to notice the young lad behind him and carried on discussing the health of the Prime Minister.

Mr Johnson had been moved to the critical care unit in the central London hospital on Monday night as he continued to battle the coronavirus but his health worsened.

Piers Morgan though lashed out at the cyclist for not adhering to the rules and keeping at least two meters apart from other people.

He said: “I want to apologise to you for the complete moron who was cycling up right next to you with his phone during that interview. You might not have even been aware of it.

“He was ignoring all social distancing rules, trying to make a little celebrity of himself.

“It’s morons like that who are literally costing lives, and I just want to say how sorry I am that this idiot did that to you during the interview.”

Viewers were also just as unimpressed with what they had seen.

One said: “Well said @piersmorgan those idiots cycling around the MP on #gmb trying to discuss important issues should be given a fixed penalty straight away.”

“That lad on the bike wasn’t two metres away, well done for going against government guidelines on live TV.”
