Several memorable extracts from the landmark message will appear on the famous billboards for the next 10 days.

The Piccadilly Lights are a tourist attraction famed for their flashing adverts since 1908.

Inspiring quotes from the Queen will include: "We will be with our friends again; we will be with our family again.

We will meet again." And: "We should take comfort that while we may have more still to endure, better days will return."

The rolling quotes also include special praise for hero NHS workers and front-line staff.

The Queen said: "I want to thank everyone on the NHS front line as well as those carrying out essential roles."

The cost is being met by Piccadilly Lights' owners Landsec and billboard firm Ocean Outdoor.

Messages will be screened between 10am and 6pm until Sunday April 19.
