Coronavirus nurse distraught at note calling her ‘a disgrace’ for ‘flouting’ lockdown with 12-hour shift
A NURSE fighting Britain’s coronavirus outbreak was distraught to be left a note calling her a “disgrace” after a gruelling 12-hour shift.
Bex Williams was accused of flouting the government’s lockdown rules as she leaves her home each day for work at Peterborough Hospital, Cambridgeshire.

The handwritten note pushed through her letterbox read: “You are a disgrace and you have been reported! Stay at Home Saves Lives”.
Ms Williams has no idea who left it at her home in Godmanchester, Cambs, but believes it may have been an over-zealous neighbour.
She said: “I was obviously really upset and angry after coming home from a 12-and-a-half-hour shift to find this note on my doorstep.
When I opened the note my heart just pounded in my throat, I just couldn’t believe how awful it was.

“At first I thought it was a good will gesture letter, after other nurses have received lovely gifts and messages on their cars and doorsteps.
“When I opened the note my heart just pounded in my throat, I just couldn’t believe how awful it was.”
Ms Williams has to drop her children off at her brother’s house each day while she works gruelling shifts helping covid-19 patients.
She said: “The fact that this person who wrote the note, didn’t even ask me where I was going everyday first, upsets me.
“We cannot put on our uniforms until we get to work and I have to walk quite far across the green to my car.”
MUM'S FURY
Ms Williams said she has been sent lots of supportive messages and comments on Facebook after her mum, Deb Leighton, shared a post about the neighbour.
She wrote: “To the vile, malicious person, who posted this through my daughter’s letterbox.
“To come home to this after working, you are the disgrace.
“She’s upset and probably won’t be able to sleep today, before going back to work tonight.
“A little fact checking would have gone a long way, instead of hiding behind an anonymous note through her door.
“I hope you’re proud of yourself.”

'I WORK FOR THE NHS'
It comes after another nurse was left a nasty note by a neighbour who accused her of “unessential travel”.
Sam Halms, a nurse at Norfolk & Suffolk Mental Health Foundation Trust, found the message blasting her as “selfish” on her car windscreen.
Sharing the post on Facebook, she wrote: “I don’t usually post much personal stuff on social media, but I’m hoping that sharing this on here will reach the idiot that left me this note on my car."

The aggressive note said: "I have been watching you travel every day in your car.
"You are not in uniform, so this is clearly unessential travel. You are part of the problem.
"Stay at home and protect our country and NHS. You have been reported."
But Sam, unable to contain her frustration, hit back on social media with a status addressed to the unknown neighbour — racking up over 7,500 likes and 13,000 shares.
She fumed: "Why didn’t you just approach me and ask me what I was doing, maybe then you would understand why I am getting up every day to work for the NHS?"
