Convicted Irish double rapist banned from Tinder after moving to Scotland and trying to woo women
A CONVICTED double rapist has been banned from Tinder after trying to woo women in Glasgow under a new name.
Brian Davey, then 22, was jailed for six years in 2013 for the brutal double rape of a student in Northern Ireland.
We told in 2018 how Davey faced death threats from and describing himself as an easy-going guy after an early release from prison.
reported in January that the monster was "ordered out" of Ashbourne, County Meath, after approaching and "tracking down" women, before his past was uncovered.
He also lost his job in the area.
Now it has emerged that he relocated to Glasgow and set up an account on the dating app to try to meet women.
One discovered who he was after chatting to him and blocked him before reporting him to both cops and Tinder.
His account was under the name Stew and listed his age as 29.
In his bio, he said he was an "Irishman stuck in quarantine."
He added that he had a broken leg which was a "nightmare" and that he needed a nurse to look after him.
It's understood the account has now been removed.
A spokesperson for Tinder insists they will always protect their members and remove any dangerous profiles.
They said: " The safety of our members is our top priority and we take this matter very seriously.
"If someone has been reported for committing a crime, they will be removed from our platform, and our team will always work with law enforcement, where possible, to protect our members.
"We advise our community of millions of members to be vigilant, report any suspicious activity and to read through our safety tips available online and through the app."
Police Scotland declined to comment.
Davey wept at Belfast Crown Court in 2013 when he was found guilty of a raping a student twice and blew kisses to his then-partner as he was led from the dock.

After he was released from prison in 2016, he sexually assaulted a teenage girl.
Her outraged dad revealed his horror at Davey looking for women to date on Tinder.
The predator was jailed for three years in 2013 after he invited himself to the first victim's home where his advances were repeatedly rebuffed by the victim.
While he was in the toilet, the terrified victim had text her housemate saying: "I'm scared of this creep."
She later woke up to find Davey performing a sex act on her before he pinned her down and raped her.
The fiend then raped her again as she was "crying and begging him to stop" and brazenly asked what she was going to do about the attack.
He was returned to jail in 2017 after breaking conditions of his licence and was later found guilty and sentenced over the sexual assault on the teenager.
