James Bulger’s mum Denise Fergus ‘couldn’t be happier’ at prospect of becoming a gran
JAMES Bulger’s mum Denise Fergus has told of her joy at the prospect of becoming a gran.
The 52-year-old shared scan photos and one of a cute kid’s outfit with: “Coming soon, baby Fergus, due in 2020.”
She added: “My first grandchild is on its way. Couldn’t be happier.”
Her son James was just two when he was abducted from a shopping centre in Bootle, Liverpool, and killed in 1993.
Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, both ten at the time, were convicted of his murder.
The tot had been tortured and left for dead on a railway track in a case that shocked Britain.
Denise told TV’s Loose Women how she struggles with the anniversaries of her son’s death and his birthday.
She was pregnant with James’s brother Michael at the time of the killing but split from husband Ralph Bulger a year after the atrocity.
Denise married electrician Stuart Fergus in 1998 and they have two sons together — Thomas, 21, and Leon, 20.
Fighter Denise set up the James Bulger Memorial Trust to support young victims of crime and bullying.
