Using a mixture of water and glycerin, researchers made a "cough and sneeze jet" that mimicked how far particles can travel amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Particles from a "heavy" cough or sneeze in the experiment traveled three feet in a matter of seconds, and by 41 seconds had moved nine feet.
