Monster mom ‘stabs son, 3, to death and leaves toddler’s rotting body for devastated relatives to find’
A MOM stabbed her three-year-old son to death then fled leaving his rotting corpse at home for her relatives to find days later, police say.
Atiya Nina Muhammed, 26, has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder, first-degree child abuse and torture of Zion Reid.
Muhammed's worried family members went to check on her last week after failing to contact her for several days.
They discovered Zion in a bedroom of the home in Inkster, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan.
The child's body was "in a state of decomposition" when it was found last Wednesday, police said.
It was not clear how Zion had been dead.
But an autopsy was able to determined he died from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma, said the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Cops launched a hunt for Muhammed and later tracked her down to a hotel.
She was taken into custody awaiting formal arraignment in court.
Police did not reveal a motive for the alleged murder.
