Biden will meet with George Floyd’s family but ‘will avoid funeral in case Secret Service protection complicates it’

JOE Biden is set to meet with George Floyd's family in-person - but will avoid the funeral in case his Secret Service protection causes a stir. 

The former is reportedly planning to visit 's grieving relatives in Houston, on Monday to give his condolences in person ahead of the funeral.

But Biden is concerned that if he attends the service flanked by his security guards it may be disruptive, reported .

"Vice President Biden will travel to Houston Monday to in-person to the Floyd family," his spokesperson said on Sunday. "He is also recording a video message for the funeral service."

An attorney for Floyd's family said he was welcome to attend the 46-year-old's funeral.
