Ahmaud Arbery’s mom describes ’emotional’ meeting with Donald Trump and says president was ‘very compassionate’
THE mom of tragic Ahmaud Arbery has spoken of her emotionally-charged meeting with Donald Trump revealing he was "very compassionate."
Wanda Cooper-Jones met with the president behind closed doors on Tuesday just before he signed off an executive order

"I was very, very emotional throughout the whole conference," CBS reports she said after the president met with the relatives of victims of racial violence.
She then added he was "very compassionate" and "showed major concern for all families. Not just one family, but for all families."
"I can say that was very receiving. He listened and he addressed each and every family accordingly," she said.
"He did assure each family member that we would and should expect change," it's reported she added.
Other attendees reportredly included relatives of Botham Jean, a Texas man shot in his home by a police officer, Atatiana Jefferson, killed after police were called to her home and Antwon Rose, a teenager killed by a Pittsburgh police officer
After the meeting the president was also quick to praise the mourning mom.
He tweeted: 'A GREAT woman Her son is looking down from heaven & is very proud of his wonderful & loving mom!!!'

was a black man who was shot dead on February 23 while out jogging in Brunswick, Georgia.
Father and son Gregory McMichael, 64, and Travis, 34, say they killed him because they thought he was a burglar.
They claim they were trying to perform a citizens' arrest as they thought he matched the description of a man caught behind recent break-ins in the area.

Security camera footage showed Ahmaud at an abandoned property, but it's not clear what he was doing there.
After the meeting with his mom, Trump announced his police reform executive order during a press conference in the Rose Garden.
The president's plan will ban police from using chokeholds except for in instances when their lives are at risk .
He will also set up a database where police departments track officers who have been accused of using excessive force.
During his speech, Trump said that the "vast majority"; of cops are "selfless and courageous public servants.
He added that "bad" cops only represent a "tiny" and "small percentage" of the force.

Trump said he does not support defunding police across the US.
"I strongly oppose the radical efforts to defend, dismantle and dissolve our police departments, especially now when we’ve achieved the lowest recorded crime rates in american history," Trump said.
Trump's comments came as unrest lingers across the United States after the death of George Floyd and Rayshard Brooks.
