‘A giant rat took a bite out of my stump’: Disabled man claims rodent chomped on the remains of his amputated legs

The 60-year-old blames his housing association for not clearing up piles of rubbish in the communal bin area

A DISABLED man who had both legs amputated says he is being "tormented" by rats after one took a bite at his stump.

Michael Gregory claims a giant rat tried to chomp at the remains of his legs while he was putting out his bin bags.

Mr Gregory says his stumps were gnawed on by a giant rat

The wheelchair-bound 60-year-old is blaming the attack on his housing association for not clearing up heaps of rubbish which have been dumped outside his flat.

The double amputee, who suffers from progressive multiple sclerosis, says he has to wade through litter to get to his communal bin shed - fending off a "gang" of rats.

Disgusted Mr Gregory, of Newport, South Wales, said: "The rat was the size of a small cat and bit right through my trousers.

"The marks are still there and someone has told me it might have been a water rat.
