Lotto gran who claimed she had £33m winning ticket hits the town after court case is adjourned

The fake prize winner headed for the hotel bar after her trial was delayed

A GRAN who claimed she put a winning £33million Lotto ticket through the wash spent a boozy night at a hotel with friends after her court trial was adjourned this week.

Susanne Hinte made headlines when she claimed she had scooped the record £32 million prize, but said her ticket was missing vital parts after being damaged in the washing machine.

The 48-year-old is on trial for two counts of dwelling theft said to have taken place between January 3 and 4 last year.

She denies stealing a purse from a pensioner who helped her find the home of a man she had met on a dating app.

On Wednesday night the fake Lotto winner was pictured at the Malmaison hotel in Birmingham after her trial was adjourned at the city's magistrates' court the day before.

According to one hotel staff member, the gran had booked rooms with a select group of friends after she was due in court for the verdict of her trial for theft.

The staff member, who does not want to be named, said: "None of us know what Ms Hinte was celebrating last night."

They said her court case had been put back but as she had paid out for the hire it still went ahead.

After Hinte tried to claim the prize back in January she said she genuinely believed she was the winner and denied trying to scam the National Lottery out of the dosh.

The German-born nan, of Warndon, Worcestershire, handed Camelot a ticket with the winning numbers but no visible date or barcode when she claimed the prize.

The mum-of-two caused outrage last month after The Sun revealed she had bagged a new sportscar on the taxpayer.

She bought the Vauxhall Astra GTC Limited Edition Sport out of the disability allowance she gets for having a heart condition.

Hinte, who is dating 49-year-old singer-songwriter Steve Heathcock who appeared on the ITV daytime show Judge Rinder earlier this year, was initially offered a basic Vauxhall — but stumped up an extra £249 so she could have the sports edition.

A similar leasing deal would cost the average driver £400 a month.
