Entrepeneur dad-of-two killed after falling 100ft from hotel rooftop bar in the City of London
Tributes pour in for Nathan Lowe, 45, described as the 'life of the party' by devastated pals, who took to social media to share pics and memories
AN entrepreneur killed after plunging 100ft from a London hotel roof has been named as 45-year-old Nathan Lowe.
The dad-of-two died on Thursday after falling from the rooftop bar at DoubleTree by Hilton, close to the Tower of London.
Police ordered people drinking at nearby bars and restaurants inside as emergency workers desperately tried to save tragic Mr Lowe.
Customers at the 12th-storey SkyLounge bar were also ushered away as the terrace was partially cordoned off.
A City worker who was in the bar at the time told the: “We were outside on the rooftop bar in a private area when suddenly all these police came up.
“The staff told us they had to cordon off the area. It was pretty packed. We were all ushered inside – we didn’t know what was going on.”
City of London police previously said they were not treating his death as suspicious, and confirmed the case was being passed to the City of London coroner to investigate.
A police spokeswoman said last week: “Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 4.51pm to reports of a man, believed to be in his 40s, that had fallen from a building in Pepys Street.
“He was initially in a serious condition and then pronounced dead at the scene.”
Former mortgage advisor Mr Lowe left his job to set up a franchise of milkshake diner Shakeaway in Windsor seven years ago.
He said he came up with the idea after seeing how much kids loved another branch of the store in Brighton, adding: “People will always want affordable treats like milkshakes even if they have to cut back on more expensive things.”
Tributes have since been pouring in to the man described as “the life and soul of the party”.
Former business partner James Fox said: “He would always turn up at my birthday with more than 10 presents, from a Black Lace album to size 60in waist trousers, and would belt out ‘Figaro’ in public on many occasions. It is such a tragedy.”
Another friend Jonathon Meller said: “Nathan Lowe quite simply, the world won't be the same without you. Much love pal x”
Friends and family also took to social media to post pictures, videos and share memories of the tragic dad.
Mr Lowe’s daughter Josie, 20, wrote online: “Dad got Alex me and him escorted from Ascot premises about 2 years ago for trying to sneak us in!! funny memories xx.”
