AN NHS worker claims she was unfairly axed by health chiefs after colleagues outed her as a secret porn star who went by the name Bubbles De Vere.
Administrator Katie Molloy, operated as an adult movie star and sex worker under numerous different aliases – including the name of Matt Lucas’ sex-crazed socialite character on the BBC hit Little Britain.
The 64-year-old starred in dozens of flicks as a BBW - porn terminology for a ‘big beautiful woman’ who takes young lovers.
She also offered herself as an escort and sex worker, charging £120 an hour for kinky services including ‘adult baby minding’.
When her double life was discovered by staff at the Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust in July last year, she was suspended by bosses who launched an immediate investigation.
She was signed off sick for more than two months on full pay before eventually handing in her resignation – but has taken the trust to an employment tribunal claiming she was forced out.
Molloy told a hearing at Liverpool Civil and Family Court today: “I became aware of the allegations after staff had found out and were having a laugh behind my back.
“I took down what I could from the internet. But the internet being the internet means I couldn’t control everything.
“What I did didn’t break the law. LCH have overlooked other people’s behaviour, people who have broken the law, but they didn’t do it to me.”
Molloy, of Liverpool, admitted to being a sex worker and paid porn star, but claims her actions had all taken place before joining the trust.
Her role saw her dealing with elderly and vulnerable patients as they made health appointments within the Liverpool area.
When quizzed by Lena Amartey, for the respondent, whether she thought the general public would be unhappy to know an NHS worker was a secret porn star and sex worker, Molly replied: “No I don’t think they would be.
“It didn’t affect my ability to do the job. I loved my job.”
Before the hearing started, Molly asked her solicitor Bruce Henry to launch an appeal to have the case heard behind closed doors because she was “embarrassed and her reputation would be damaged”.
But Judge Keith Robinson refused, adding: “It would not be in the interests of open justice.”
The trial continues.
